After the success of the inaugural event in 2012, Fairway To Furlong will once again be running a very special golf event on Monday 11th March 2013. The twenty Ten course and Roman Road course will be host to The Cheltenham Festival Golf Day, giving you the chance to get one of the great racing weeks of the year off to a perfect start. The courses will challenge even the best golfers, and if you select the Twenty Ten course option, you will be walking the same fairways as the world's best players in the 2010 Ryder Cup.
This fantastic day will also provide you with the opportunity to enjoy the last preview night before the 2013 Cheltenham Festival begins. The Augusta Suite in The Lodge at The Celtic Manor will be the venue for this exclusive event. A panel consisting of famous faces from the racing world will run you through their views about the major races and supporting cards - and hopefully provide you with a few winners for the upcoming week!
Derek "Tommo" Thompson will host this exciting evening and he will be joined by the Fairway to Furlong panel of Mick Fitzgerald, Rishi Persad and Gina Bryce. They will be able to talk you through the Cheltenham Festival race card. With favourites such as Bobs Worth, Dynaste, Sprinter Sacre and Hurricane the festival is set to be a very exciting one.
As the venue for the 2010 Ryder Cup and home of The Celtic Manor Wales Open, the Celtic Manor Resort offers some of the finest golf courses and hotel facilities in the UK. The Twenty Ten course is becoming one of the most talked about layouts in the UK. The Roman Road course is the first of the Resort's courses. Opened in 1995 it was ranked 'the top inland course in Wales' by Golf Monthly Magazine and was host to The Celtic Manor Wales Open from 2005 to 2007. Finally the Montgomerie course is another fine test at this outstanding golfing destination.
The Festival at Cheltenham is the shining jewel in Jump racing's crown. It is four days of magic, madness and magnificence, played out on a stage framed by the breathtaking vista of the Cotswold Hills. It features a cast of the best horse, jockeys and trainers playing to an audience of 220,000, all of whom are determined to have the time of their lives. For racing's professionals, victory at The Festival is how greatness is measured and how careers are defined. For anyone who appreciates top class sport and the opportunity to share a special experience with like-minded people, it truly is a life affirming four days. This year's Festival is shaping up to be a cracker with the likes of Simonsig as favourite for the Arkle Trophy, Bobs Worth & Des Champs going head to head in the Gold Cup and Hurricane Fly hoping to win the Champion Hurdle.
